The imminent INCUBUS disc, A Crow Left of the Murder (Sony), was produced and mixed by Brendan O'Brien at Southern Tracks Recording in Atlanta. (The single, "Megalomaniac," is already receiving significant airplay.) The engineers were Nick DiDia and Karl Egsieker, assisted by Phillip Martin. Splinter (Columbia, CK 89026), THE OFFSPRING's spanking new biscuit, featuring the hit single, "Hit That," was produced and mixed by Brendan O'Brien at Southern Tracks. Karl Egsieker was Engineer; Phillip Martin was Second Engineer. In related Offspring projects, Nick DiDia conducted the 5:1 Surround Sound mix of Splinter, with Karl Egsieker as Second Mix Engineer and Phillip Martin, Assistant Engineer. Brendan O'Brien mixed the audio for Offspring's filmed performance which has been aired on MTV and BBC; Karl Egsieker was Second Mix Engineer with Phillip Martin assisting.
Brendan O'Brien produced and mixed two bonus cuts ("She Don't Want Nobody Near"; "Friend of the Devil") for Films About Ghosts, The Best of…, COUNTING CROWS current Geffen compilation. The Engineer was Karl Egsieker with Phillip Martin, Assistant Engineer.
THE THORNS (Pete Droge, Shawn Mullins and Matthew Sweet) dropped into Southern Tracks to record a new version of "Blue," The Jayhawks' ballad which appeared on last year's debut, The Thorns (Aware/Columbia CK 86958). Karl Egsieker engineered with Phillip Martin in the role of Assistant Engineer.
